In a move that will have moviegoers scrambling to dust off their high school French class notes, visionary director Christopher Nolan has announced his latest project, “Interstellar 2,” will be filmed entirely using Morse code. This ambitious undertaking, Nolan claims, will push the boundaries of cinematic storytelling and “force audiences to truly engage with the film on a deeper, more meditative level.”

“We wanted to create a truly immersive experience,” explained Nolan, sporting a pair of thick, black-rimmed glasses that seemed to magnify the intensity in his eyes. “With traditional film, you’re bombarded with visuals and sound. But with Morse code, the audience has the opportunity to actively participate in deciphering the narrative.”

The film, a sequel to the critically acclaimed “Interstellar,” will once again star Matthew McConaughey as Cooper, the stoic astronaut who ventured into a wormhole to save humanity. This time, however, Cooper will be communicating with his loved ones back on Earth via a series of strategically placed flashing lights in space.

Sources close to the production report that McConaughey is “embracing the challenge” of Morse code acting. “It’s really forcing me to connect with the emotional core of each scene,” he said, while demonstrating a series of rapid blinks that reportedly left on-set crew members confused and slightly nauseated.

Anne Hathaway, who reprises her role as Cooper’s daughter, Murph, will be tasked with deciphering the Morse code messages on Earth. “It’s like solving a puzzle,” she enthused during a recent press conference. “Except the puzzle is space travel and the stakes are the fate of humanity. But you know, low pressure!”

The production team has reportedly hired a team of expert telegraph operators to translate McConaughey’s Morse code performances into actual dialogue. “It’s a painstaking process,” admitted one operator, “but it’s fascinating to see how much emotion you can convey with just a series of dots and dashes.”

Of course, Nolan’s unorthodox filmmaking methods have drawn criticism from some corners. One anonymous studio executive quipped, “Isn’t this a little bit…extra? I mean, subtitles exist for a reason.”

Others have questioned the accessibility of the film. “I don’t have time to learn Morse code just to watch a movie,” lamented a moviegoer interviewed outside a theater. “Frankly, I just want to see explosions and spaceships.”

Undeterred by the naysayers, Nolan remains confident in his vision. “Look, at the end of the day, I’m an artist,” he declared. “And this is art. It’s not supposed to be easy. It’s supposed to challenge you. It’s supposed to make you blink really, really fast for two hours.”

“Interstellar 2” is scheduled for release in 2027. Moviegoers are encouraged to brush up on their Morse code skills and invest in comfortable eye masks – this is one space odyssey that’s sure to leave you blinking.
